The council of Ping-Tung County has reached its 16th session., to a new milestone. Understanding the needs of the people in an age of increasing public opinion is the responsibility of a people’s representative. While strictly supervising the government, ensuring that the government meets the expectations of the people without excess waste of the budget is the responsibility of the highest organization in Ping-Tung county, the county council. The above are the objectives of the Ping-Tung county council.     The 55th county councilman directly represents the wants and needs of the people, speaks for the people. The county council is where opinions of the people collect. There may be different voices or opposing opinions, but that is a part of democracy, containing all the different voices and walk the direction of what’s best for the people to meet the expectations of the people.

In this age of data boom, the county council has to pace itself and speed up to catch on with the society in response to the demands of the people. The relationship between the county council and the government was built on the expectations of the people and the future of Ping-Tung, this is the true value of democracy, and it is also why the county council exists.     When government policies meet the opinions of the people, the county council cooperating with the government, then the future of Ping-Tung can be brighter. On the contrary, if the government does not meet the expectations of the people, the county council will be on the people’s side, to be the most powerful organization to push the government toward the expectations of the people.     The opinion of the people is just like water; water can float a boat but also flip a boat. As a county council member, the opinion of the people is a responsibility. The county council has to catch up with the pulse of people’s opinion to ensure happiness for the people.
